But can it do X? A software journey to be all things to all people, starring: Python, Jupyter, and Panel
Mr Daniel Wild1
For many research projects, methods and results undergo several iterative periods of (or ongoing) internal analysis, debugging & review before final delivery to industry, public, and decision makers. Each of these stages often necessitate the use of bespoke software tools for visualisation & analysis – for which important things like: the required level of a user’s technical knowledge, and suitable data abstractions may vary wildly.
In this talk I take a look at how we can leverage Python, Jupyter Notebooks and Panel for the flexible delivery of tools to support research projects across their lifecycle.
I work with the Coastal Informatics team within CSIRO as a Software Engineer. As a decision support system and visualisation specialist – I use technology to maximise scientific impact by making complex information more accessible to scientists, government & industry decision-makers, and the broader public.
